Updated Cisco Press CCNA Books...

Unanswered Question

All...I was wondering if any of you knew how much the CCNP ciriculum has changed over the last 3 years? I am getting ready to knock out my CCNP certification and was wondering if the Cisco Press books I purchased several years ago are still sufficient or if it is worth purchasing the latest editions. I currently have the BCSI Self-Study, 2nd Edition and the BCSI Certification Guide, 3rd Edition both of which appear to be 1 edition behind. Any thoughts as to how beneficial it is to purchase the newer materials?

I think there has been only a little changed in the first two courses. The major changes were made in the last two exams.

You can find more detailed info on the Cisco Learning Network https://cisco.hosted.jivesoftware.com/index.jspa?ciscoHome=true It requires a free registration but the information inside is worth it.

You can also go to the CCNP Prep Center at http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/CCNP?page=main

good luck

Generally, older editions of any book for which testing is involved are fraught with peril. You might try Cisco press to see what's queued up to be released in the near future.

I have the latest CCNP books, but may skip the CCNP and began studying for the CCIE.In any case if I decide to do so I will sell my CCNP books.
