Upgrading 5.0.x to 5.1.x

I searched for this one and couldn't find it. Is an upgrade from Call Manager 5.0.x to 5.1.x just a patch, or is it a whole new install from CD? I have my 5.0 CD's, but I need to reload a publisher that is running 5.1, and am not sure how the upgrade process works for a minor version upgrade. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,


Yes, this would have been considered a "Patch" upgrade. This is probably why you can't locate the build media for CUCM 5.1(x). You will have to build up from 5.0 using the original media and then using the applicable Patch/Patches before running the restore.


This is why we always try to order the actual media for the builds we are running (via PUT).
