802.1Q Trunk over L2L VPN on ASA 5510

Hello all,

I have two ASA5510 with Base License, connected on dedicated link. So far I have a site to site VPN configured to encrypt the traffic between the two sites.

Now, we want to implement VLANs

at both sites and be able to transmit the VLAN information over the VPN link between the two ASAs.

How can this be achieved? The topology is very simple: each ASA has an inside interface that plugs into the core switch, so this will have to be trunked too.

AFAIK you cannot do what you want to.

You can't do L2 on an IPSec VPN. It is possible on routers using L2tpv3.
