Hi -

Web conferencing uses a web page from your PC workstation to connect to the conference. From this interface, you can share your desktop or applications (such as a WORD or Excel document); request remote control of an end user's PC to assist with troubleshooting; annotate shared documents; record the audio portions of meetings; text message meeting participants; basically manage meeting content and participants (if you are the scheduler/manager you can mute participants etc.). Video uses either web cams, Video enabled IP phone models, or H.323/SIP based videoconferencing endpoints (like Polycom, Tandberg, Sony, Cisco's Telepresence systems etc.) to connect room sized equipment. MeetingPlace can schedule these endpoints as resources in a meeting.
