Hello,
We have 2xFWSM that running on 2x6509 in production environment and these 2 FWSMs is running active/standby mode. There are FW version 2.3(4) that running on these FWSMs. We want to upgrade these FWSMs with less downtime and impact for production environment. Do you have any optimal way to get this job done.?
Best regards

Hello Hieu,
there is a specific document for upgrade from of FWSM from 2.x to 3.1
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/fwsm/fwsm31/upgrade/guide/fwsm31up.html
If you use multiple contexts you need to follow the multiple mode notes.
I also don't know if you can upgrade to a later release of firmware directly.
You need a maintanance window in any case because there is some impact.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
