CSM/CSM-S Life span

Answered Question
Jun 17th, 2009

Since the 12.2(18)SXF train has been EOL'ed and 12.2(33)SXH doesn't support the CSM-S what are Cisco's future plans for this product?

I have this problem too.

I got confirmation.

The support for CSM in SXH should come soon.

We are making the final testing.

The replacement is the ACE module.

But I think there is discussion to extend the CSM life by adding support in 12.2(33)SXH

Gilles,

If Cisco plans to extend support to SXH, what about SXI, then? That's the code needed for VSS on Cat6500.

Or is the only option here an upgrade to ACE?

I don't think VSS supports CSM, so it doesn't matter if SXI supports it or not.

Hi,

Check version 12.2(33)SXI2.

I have installed it and have now ACE and CSM in same chassi. Next week I'm going to build VSS with these service-modules.
