I am in the early stages of troubleshooting users reporting static on the phones when they are on a call. Based on others with the same issues what would be the best place to look for an issue that may cause this. In other words when this happens what is the main reason or reasons for static?

The users are connected to a Catalyst 4506-E switch which then goes into a 2821 router and comes back to a central location via T-1 MPLS. This is the way most all our offices are setup, we are Hub and Spoke. Not all users are having this issue. They are all Cisco IP Phones (7965).

Somewhere, there is one or more telephone lines going to telco, you need to find out that.

Thank you...

Since I will be asked and I don't configure that everyday. How did you arrive at that and can it have any adverse affects?

No adverse effects, we're not here to make you suffer. That will eliminate the slip errors that you can see in show controllers. Who initially configured in the router was not a professional.
