877w Wont Sync

I have an issue with an Cisco 877w where is wont sync with the line card in a BT exchange. It goes into a repeating up / down cycle and has been doing this now for several days. I have tried multiple adsl firmware's but none have worked. does anyone have any ideas. I dont have the config avilable but the config was working for 3 weeks prior to this occuring.

Also the line is good and has been for several years. It was typically syncing at around 7mbit prior to this issue.

checked some forums, cant find a straight answer,

try changing the dsl auto settings on the atm0 if.

I have tried unless i am missing something silly.

Currently the mode is

dsl operating-mode itu-dmt

instead of

dsl operating-mode auto

Anyone other mode except for itu-dmt will not sync at all or produce an obvious error like other end is not configured to same operating mode.
