Catalyst 6500 - Sending commands to module

Hi,

Is it possible to send commands from Cat 6500 console into one of the connected modules such as FWSM.

For e.g. if I have no user defined on FWSM with privilege level 15, can I create a user with level 15 on FWSM via the Cat6500 console (i.e. without logging into FWSM as I don't have high privilege user).

Hello,

can you access the FSWM with

session slot fwsm_slot proc 1 ?

otherwise you need to use the

switch console fwsm_slot

command from supervisor console to access FWSM console

Hi Giuseppe,

My query was if there is any way to modify FWSM config i.e. to create user, without sessioning into FWSM. Because I did some mistake on FWSM and locked myself out. I don't have a user with privilege level 15 on FWSM and to avoid password recovery, aaa command removal via module restart I want to know if there is any way I can recover from this situation.

You may want to try using SNMP to modify your config.
