Rmeng -Syslogdb file size issue.

Hi All,

The rmeng folder all the syslog database files are increasing . any workaround for reducing the size.

Please find the below details of the file:

C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\databases\rmeng

SyslogFirst.db Size 8,929,292 KB Date 6/16/2009

SyslogSecond.db Size 23,684,808 KB Date 6/20/2009

SyslogThird.db Size 3,139,272 KB Date 6/14/2009

There is a tool called DBSpaceReclaimer.class which you can obtain from TAC which will purge these data spaces. The tool is included in LMS 3.2, but you must contact the TAC to get it for earlier versions of LMS.

Moving forward, to prevent the data spaces from growing so much, consider re-evaluating your syslog filters so that only truly interesting messages are written to the RME database.
