We have been using the management0/0 interface for the failover process with success. I have a co-worker who claims this to not be a good idea. Has anyone heard of any definitive information for or against this practice?

Hi Daniel,
In my experience, it is perfectly fine to use the management interface for failover communication. Just be sure to disable management-only mode with the 'no management-only' command on that interface.
Hope that helps.

There is no real difference between the management and normal ethernet interfaces.
