ACE4710 VIP issues

I'm installing a ACE appliance using two L3 vlans, one for the client-side connections and the other for the server-side connnections. The VIPS are not part of the IP space assigned to either vlan. I am not able to ping or connect to the VIPS or see them in the ARP table. Is this a valid configuration?

Thanks!

This is a valid config.

But since the vip does not belong to any vlans, you need a static route upstream pointing the traffic to an interface ip of ACE.

Gilles.

I figured out what the issue was and it had nothing to do with the routing or interface setup. If you add an rserver to a server farm without a port, add the same rserver with a port and then remove the rserver without a port designation the ACE will not forward traffic to that server. You have to remove the entire serverfarm from the configuration and re-add it before it will function correctly.
