MGCP - ISDN One way Call

PAUL CHEN
Level 1
Level 1

Hi,

Router A has a DN 1002 and is also a MGCP gateway. The MGCP gateway is configured with inbound 4 significant digits.

Router A config:

controller T1 0/0/0

cablelength long 0db

pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp

interface Serial0/0/0:23

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-ni

ccm-manager switchback immediate

ccm-manager redundant-host 10.10.210.10

ccm-manager mgcp

!

mgcp

mgcp call-agent 10.10.210.11 service-type mgcp version 0.1

mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode out-of-band

mgcp fax t38 ecm

mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback0

mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback0

!

mgcp profile default

!

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

no cdp enable

I can call from DN 1002 to the PSTN ephone at 6178632683

ephone-dn 1 octo-line

number 911

label Emergency........911-999

description PSTN Phone

!

ephone-dn 3

number 6178632683 no-reg primary

label test +1-617-863-2683

However, calling DN 1002 from the PSTN by dialing '6178631002' produces a reorder tone and the ISDN error message:

Unallocated/unassigned number

Debug shows that there is a match with the dial peer :

dial-peer voice 102 pots

destination-pattern 6178631...

port 0/3/1:23 <--------connected to the PSTN router

forward-digits 10

Translation patterns are working and there is a route pattern of 617863.XXXX - PreDot

I am not sure what is wrong, any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

The call flow isn't very clear here. You've got CUCM DNs, CME DNs, MGCP PRIs, and H323 PRIs but no real clear diagram of how these are related.

What is the device that is sending the Unallocated/Unassigned number? Is this a lab or is this an actual PSTN circuit?

If it's actual PSTN try adding a 1 before the number.

Hi Nick,

I was about to re-post this conversation.

It is a copy and paste error.

Anyway it is a lab scenario.

Router A has a phone with DN 1002 registered to CCM7 and is also a MGCP gateway. The MGCP gateway is configured with inbound 4 significant digits.

Router A config:

controller T1 0/0/0

cablelength long 0db

pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp

interface Serial0/0/0:23

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-ni

ccm-manager switchback immediate

ccm-manager redundant-host 10.10.210.10

ccm-manager mgcp

!

mgcp

mgcp call-agent 10.10.210.11 service-type mgcp version 0.1

mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode out-of-band

mgcp fax t38 ecm

mgcp bind control source-interface Loopback0

mgcp bind media source-interface Loopback0

!

mgcp profile default

!

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

no cdp enable

PSTN Router config:

ephone-dn 1 octo-line

number 911

label Emergency........911-999

description PSTN Phone

!

ephone-dn 3

number 6178632683 no-reg primary

label test +1-617-863-2683

!

dial-peer voice 102 pots

destination-pattern 6178631...

port 0/3/1:23 <------ back to back connection to Router A

forward-digits 10

I can call the PSTN ephone DN 6178632683 from Router A's DN 1002.

So, I presume the ISDN is working one way ,at least.

However, calling DN 1002 from the PSTN by dialing '6178631002' produces a reorder tone and the ISDN error message:

Unallocated/unassigned number

Debug shows that there is a match with the dial peer :

Translation patterns are working and there is also a route pattern of 617863.XXXX - PreDot

I am not sure what is wrong, any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul
