I have had a 32 user UC520 that I've been working to configure for the last few weeks. I've been in and out of the device due to time on other projects, but some functionality just wasn't working. There were several IOS and CCA updates from the time that I started working on this to the present, and each time I would update, something would change in my configuration. Some functionality would be gained, other functionality would be lost. I decided to start from scratch, so I saved a copy of the config, and tried to reset to factory defaults.
I should also note that I have never been able to successfully update my IOS on the UC500 and end up on the other side with all functionality. I have been kicked into Rommon a few times and am becoming very familiar with the process of getting out.
The first time I reverted to factory defaults, it seemed to work. I then went ahead and set up the network using the Telephony Setup Wizard in CCA 2.0 (7.0.3 zip bundle on the UC520). After getting the config where I wanted it, I hit the "apply" button and let it work for a while with no indicatio on the screen that anything was working. A little while later, CCA told me that the config had been applied successfully, however, the reset of the UC520 did not occur like it said that it would. Using CCA, I saved the config and told it to reset the UC500. In the wizard, I had changed the IP address info for VLAN1 from the default 192.168.10.0 network to a 10.0.96.0 network, and expected that when the UC520 came up, it would apply an IP address in that range, but it did not. I was assigned an IP in the default subnet. On looking further, the vast majority of my settings had not taken including registered telephones and users. I couldn't even figure out how to change the VLAN1 IP address - this seemed to be pretty clear in CCA 1.9 and previous versions.
At this point, it doesn't even look like CUE is loading properly and I can't configure the UC520 with any luck at all. CCA 2.0 won't allow me to do a software upgrade because "Voice data is loading." no matter how long I wait. I have replaced the CF card with a bigger card to ensure that it wasn't a space issue that I was dealing with. I have tried only putting the IOS image and the standard config on the CF card and used the CLI to copy the standard config to the startup config, but something in CUE seems to be hanging. I have tried using several different computers with firewalls turned off, reinstalled CCA, rerun the Telephony Setup Wizard, all with little success. As the voice data cannot finish loading, the UC520 will not let me complete an upgrade of the software using CCA.
On reading other, similar cases on this webpage, I have come across the following command to determine the state of the CUE session. Here, also, is the result:
UC520#service-module integrated-service-engine 0/0 session
Trying 10.1.10.2, 2002 ...
% Connection refused by remote host
I can ping this address, however.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
