How to recieve multiple inbound calls to the same DID on the same phone

I have a recpetionist phone, a 524sg, and while on a call there is a choice to put the call on hold. When a second call to the same number comes in the choices change to only 'answer'. When she clicks answer the other call is disconnected.

How can we make the button a mutli-line in CCA? Is it possible and how?

if not what is the best method for her to handle multiple calls as a receptionist using the 524G phone?

Thanks

The line should be able to handle two calls at once, this would be possible using the default "dual line" functionality.  Is this call from an external number, for example coming in over the FXO line?  If so, does the receptionist phone experience the same problem with internal calls only?  Another method for handling calls would be call parking.

If you are using an overlay configuration for the receptionist's phone, make sure it is "Ovelay Call Waiting" (this translates to the ephone button operator "c" i the CLI). Without this option, overlay lines will not display call coming into the phone if the primary line is in use.

Also, and only if you have used CLI intead of CCA, make sure yo are not assigning octo DN's to any of the CP-52X phones. These do not support octal lines.
