Hi ,

Facing high CPU utilization when using multilink with MPLS .

CPU utilization goes upto 85 % when using multilink.

Also need to know how many links I can configure in one multilink bundle. At present I am using 30 link in each bundle.

Hardware:

3 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

63 Serial interfaces

1 Channelized STM-1 port

Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G1) processor (revision B) with 229376K/32768K bytes of memory.

Hi Bhalchandra,

It's natural that multilink causes such a high cpu utilization, especially when traffic is high.

One alternative solution to this could be using CEF load sharing to replace the multilink bundles.

This would very much reduce cpu utilization.

Cheers:

Are you configured to support MLPPP fragmentation? If so, and if you don't need it, see if disabling it helps to reduce CPU.
