Hi,

I am having problem with conferencing on Call Manager 6.1 . I have three sites with one central Call Manager and I am using software conference bridge. Two sites are working fine but from one site whenver I try to make conference call by calling external number, the call gets disconnect on the first call. The Codec configuration on all the sites are same and gateway configuration is also same. Anybody has any idea on this type of issue?

Thanks

First thing to check would be that the devices at the problem site have media resource group lists that include the software conference resource.

Hi James,

The media resource group list includes the conference resource. I ran the debug on the problem site gateway and found resource unavailable. Here is the debug report:

Appreciate your help.

Try ringing the external number first and then pressing the "?" button twice to see what CODEC is in use to the external destination. All the problems I have ever seen with software conferencing is to do with CODEC mismatches.

I found that codec is being used G729 when I have called external number. The site I am having problem is set to G711. Should I change it to G729?

Thanks

software conference bridges only support g711 so you need to check why that one site is making external calls using g729. check the region isnt configured to use g729 locally and maybe recheck the config on the gateway has a voice class codec that can negotiate g711. also, is the gateway being used to make the call on the same site as the phone you cant perform the conference from.
