Syslog automated Action

I have turned on the automated action to send an email when we have an event like a duplex mismatch. It works, however, it triggers 4 emails a minute. I could write a filter in outlook but it would still use outlook resources for every message. Has anyone found a good work around for this? I am using Ciscoworks 3.1

There is no built-in rate limiting in RME. You would have to use the Script feature for Automated Action, and build some logic into your script to do the rate limiting. I'm not sure if anyone has done such a script.

Another alternative (if your device supports it) is to use the Embedded Syslog Manager to rate limit the messages at the device.
