Hi,
We are writing an XML application for various Cisco handsets... All other Cisco phones send their model in the 'User-Agent' field in the HTTP.
The SPA525G sends this:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Which is 'Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP'... There is no way of determining the actual model number (or indeed the fact it is a Cisco phone). This makes it impossible for the XML server to identify the handset (and therefore screen size/buttons/capabilites).
I can't find any way to override this anywhere.
If packet traces etc are required please contact me at steve.howesATpoundburyDOTcom
Thanks in advance...
Steve

Good catch. What firmware version are you running?

7.2.5 (Latest available).
I am more than happy to try newer beta versions etc. I have a suitable testing environment.

Dear Steve;
We have opened a defect to solve this issue. I'll keep you informed once we have a test version.

Hi Steve,
The fix is scheduled to be in the next SPA525G firmware release which is scheduled for October 2009.

Patrick
