CCM 4.x to CUCM 7.0 Upgrade - Security Mix-mode CTL

Upgrading from CCM 4.1(3) to 7.0(1). New hardware is used with new server names and IP addresses. The DMA utility has already been used to pull the data to the new servers.

Want is process to update the CTL file on the new servers and phones?

I have reviewed the Security Guide doc, but a few things are unclear.

Do I just install the new CTL client on Windows PC/Server and obtain the old USB security tokens, generate a CTL file and upload to the new servers?

When the phones are changed to point to the new TFTP server will they pull the new CTL file and function? Can I change an individual phone's Alternate TFTP to the new one and still receive a new CTL file also.

TIA

If your cluster is running in secure mode, make sure that you have USB eToken devices and CTL Client plug-in utility installed on a computer that is running the Windows operating system.

After upgrading If security is enabled on the cluster, you must configure CTL.

To configure CTL on the upgraded cluster,

1. Uninstall the existing CTL client.

2. Install the new CTL client.

3. Run the CTL client by using at least one of the previously used USB keys.

4. Update the new CTL file on all nodes.

5. Restart all nodes.
