UCCX database size

Unanswered Question

we noticed that MSSQL database size on UCCX is fixed on 2048MB. It resides on a server with 500GB of disk space, and we would like to expand the database to hold more records.

Has anyone ever tried to do this? Is it even possible?

Best regards,

I have this problem too.

You can not adjust the database size on your own. If you purchase the full SQL license (through Cisco, not Microsoft), the capacity of the database will be raised to 10240MB (from 2048MB).

Keep in mind that any manual workarounds you might have success with will be temporary and invalidate your upgrade path. This is because CCX 8.0 will be on a sealed Linux-based appliance identical to UC Manager 5.0+.

Note: The 10240MB figure is from page 360 of Administration Guide for Cisco Unified CCX and Cisco Unified IP IVR, Release 7.0(1): http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/configuration/guide/uccx70ag.pdf

So if we have SQL 2005 server software available, couldnt we simply upgrade the current database? Or will that corrupt something?

Best regards,

Hi, Marko,

We discovered recently that our UCCX server is actually running MSDE (which has a 2GB db limit), not MSSQL as we'd thought. It sounds like that's what you've run into as well. We're looking at upgrading to the Cisco version of SQL 2000 which will let us have databases up to 10GB in size. I believe that that's as large as one can go with UCCX, at least with the Cisco version of SQL.
