i want to ask question about the upgrade of unified communications manager from 4.1.3 to 7.x....I want to ask that when we use data migration assistant tool on CCM4.1.3 (for the generation for upgrade file) whether the IP telephony setup will be running ( i.e ip phones will be working) and perform call processing at the same time generating the file for migration or not.



I have this problem too.

Yes, but it's recommended to run DMA after-hours because depending on too many factors you can see issues on call control.

Your phones will continue to work while running DMA. However, it is (as stated by others) recommended to run this after hours. This is because it can (and sometimes does) spike the CPU on the server. Also, the installation of DMA requires that you reboot the Publisher before setup is complete and you run DMA.
