Channel Bonding

Cisco suggests not channel bonding the 5GHZ when running 802.11a voice.

In this case if it was desirable to channel bond on 5GHz we should deploy voice in the 2.4GHz spectrum.

I assume when of if 802.11n phones are available we will be able to channel bond.

Theoretically with the number of 5GHz channels available we could deploy 802.11a to run phones plus an overlaid 802.11n 40MHz channel width 5GHz network for 300Mbps throughput?

Here is a good link that explains the channel and power levels per ap type. Some of the UNII-1 channels max at 14dbm. Which might affect your coverage if a survey was performed using ap's set at 17dbm.

We have clients running 40mhz channel width and 7921 & 7825's with no issues. Again, it is a recommendation from Cisco, doesn't mean it doesn't work but TAC won't support it.
