IPSec Thru'put

Hello,

We have a quie an unusual situation.

There is a remote site served by fixed wireless broadband which terminates on an AirLink device. Air Link is connected to a Cisco 871.

traffic from 871 goes to AT&T private network via Airlink and wireless. From AT&T, it comes in our core via IPSec tunnel (Red) to router R1 identified in attached drawing.

Initially, from R1, traffic was sent to ASA via core switch and router identified as R2. ASA had IPSec tunnel (BLUE) to a Sonicwall headend.

With this scenario, when a file copy was performed between PC-A and PC-C, a 5MB file took more than 3 minutes to dwomload to PC-A and more than 2 minutes to upload to PC-C. However, when a 5MB file was downloaded from internet to PC-A it took about 1 minute as expected.

In attempt to eliminate Core switch, Router R2, and ASA, we built tunnel from PIX firewall (Green).

This did not make any difference in file upload/downloadn between PC-A and PC-C or download to PC-A from Internet. Times remained the same.

Any idea what might causing this delay?

Thanks,

paresh.
