Cisco WLC 5508 Wireless Outdoor Mesh

I noticed that the 5508 requires a plus license feature upgrade in order to support Enterprise Wireless Mesh. My understanding is that enterprise wireless mesh is indoor wireless mesh support. Will the 5508 support outdoor wireless mesh without the plus license feature set?

From what I was told, no. You will need a plus license to do any of the following:

OfficeExtend solution

CAPWAP data encryption

Enterprise wireless mesh

Enterprise wireless mesh includes both indoor and outdoor.

"Enterprise Wireless Mesh" should just refer to Indoor Mesh.

The 1520's are Mesh only devices and aren't part of the Enterprise Wireless Mesh. So, as far as I know, the 1520s are fully supported in the 5508.

Unfortunately, I do not have any supporting information to back this up.
