Hi !
I just update Cisco 2501 router from 4 Mb memory flash to 8 Mb. (2 flashs card of 4Mb are installed in the router)
4096K bytes of processor board System flash partition 1 (Read/Write)
4096K bytes of processor board System flash partition 2 (Read/Write)
When I try to copy an IOS file less the 8Mb, the copy process failed with error message not enough memory, it's look like if the router is not able to consider both flash card as same continued memory space ?
Some can provide me a answer to solve this problem ?

You need to erase the flash, please follow this URL:

Hi !
I was already complete same procedure in normal running mode of the router.... To night I had try in RXboot. After erase flash 1 and flash 2, I try another time to upgrade my IOS image on my router, which was always failed.
I did not find anything to solve my problem on Cisco's website, I had try with search on google and finally find this site which solved my problem :
http://www.nemako.net/dc2/?post/2006/09/13/103-mise-a-jour-hardware-d-un-routeur-cisco-2501
like it's explain in my running-config a new string was appear :
partition flash 2 4 4
after removed this line (with it's negative form from configuration terminal), I had able to copied 8Mo. IOS file on my flash in my router.
