I am running BGP with neighbor passowrd command on it. I did implement the service password-encryption comand. But when I do a show run to my config and I still can see the BGP password.
neighbor [ip_address] password 5 [password]
Is there any additional command I have to have the password encrypted?
Please let me know.
Thank you.

You should not use:
neighbor [ip_address] password 5 [password]
simply use:
neighbor [ip_address] password [password].
As you already have service password-encryption enabled. Your password should show up in encrypted language using above command.
I dont have link explaining password encryption types(0-7) handy. May be someone else can provide that.

Hi, the command...
neighbor [ip_address] password [password]
...is already an MD5 encrypted password. You don't need to put a number before the [password]
Regarding the number [0-7]
[0] means encryption disabled.
[7] means encryption enabled. This is the default.
I think if you put a number from 0 to 6 (or any number as long as it is not 7), the encryption will be disabled.
