Line occupying algorythm

Hi,

Have the IP Phone 7941 working with CUCM 6.x.

Both of two buttons configured with specific DN (line #1 - 101, line #2 - 102).

When I want to make an outbound on/off-net call from this phone I do one of the following:

1) Dial the number at first, then press 'Dial' softkey, the call proceeds.

2) Press 'New Call' softkey, then dial the number, the call proceeds.

In both cases line #1 is occupied by default for making a call.

Is there any method to change this default occupying behaviour in preference to line #2 ?

I mean somehow to reconfigure CUCM to allow both (1) and (2) tries to occupy not #1, but #2 line ?

Of course I can re-bind line-2-dn associations (line #1 - 102, line #2 - 101), but this is not very appropriate to me.

Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge line 1 is always the primary line and is automatically selected for outbound calls when using the Dial or New Call softkeys.

I do not believe that it is possible to alter this behaviour.

Best, I think, to approach this from a user training prospective. In method 1, for instance, if the user press the line 2 button, rather than Dial, it will function as you are suggesting.
