CCSP certification prerequisite

Answered Question
Jul 13th, 2009

Hi,

i have a question about my CCSP certification. In 2007 i have started to study for my CCSP. In february 2007 i've passed the SNPA examen and in july 2007 my CSVPN.

When i look at the folowing tool;

http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le54/ccsp_exam_cert_tool.html

i only need IPS en SNRS to get my CCSP certification.

My questions;

1) Do i need CCNA security?

2) If i need CCNA security, is it possible to take IPS and SNRS before CCNA security?

Thanks a lot!

I have this problem too.

1) Yes, you need CCNA security.

2) Yes, you can take IPS and SNRS without taking CCNA Security first. However, you won't receive your CCSP certification until you complete CCNA Security

Hi,

Great response.

I would like to add though:

1) You only have 6 months to get 3 exams for your CCSP before your SNPA exam pass from Feb 2007 does not count anymore towards CCSP.

2) Do NOT use exam tool, it is often misleading (see my posts re this).

It is best to go to:

Training and Events\Career Certification Tracking System\Certification Progress on Cisco website to see exactly what exams you still need to pass for particular certification.

Good luck with your exams..
