High CPU Encrypt proc on Cisco 1700

Hi all,

we are using site to site vpn (ipsec with GRE), enc -3des hash md5.

I am getting problem on cisco 1700 router. sometimes links latency get high and whenever I see the process CPU "encrypt proc" service utilize more than 60% cpu.

hoping for solution.

To handle encrypted traffic with better performances you need a hardware encryption module.

How many S2S VPN's are we talking about? What else does your Router do?

Post a scrubbed config for a better analysis. Also, a code change could help.
