ASA5520 Air Flow and System Temperature

Hello all,

Some question about ASA5520 design:

I have seen the ASA5520 has 5 or 6 fan. How many are exactly? Which of them intakes air and which exhaust air?

Would you have any photo of the interior?

Which is the best way to place it into the rack to obtain the best air flow?

On the other hand, are there any command to see the current temperature of the system? (version 8.0)

Hi Fernando,

In my experience the intake for the ASA is on the side with the connections (power, ethernet, etc). The exhaust is the side with the Cisco faceplate. I don't know if the 5510 is much different, but I can see 4 fans on the faceplate (exhaust) side.

As for finding the temperature -- good luck. Please post back if you find the way. I can't find a command or even an SNMP OID that will return the temperature info.
