Hi,
I am having difficulty enabling WCCP outbound redirection on a Cat6509-E 720 10GE and a Bluecoat Proxy SG800.
The 6509 is running 12.2(33)SXI1 and has the following WCCP config:
ip wccp web-cache redirect-list 120
int vlan XXX
ip wccp web-cache redirect out
The Bluecoat has the following config:
wccp enable
wccp version 2
service-group web-cache
forwarding-type GRE
interface 0
interface 1
home-router 193.131.222.65
sh ip wccp
Global WCCP information:

sh ip wccp web-cache detail

Assignment: MASK

I noticed that the detail command showed the redirection method as L2, so changed the Bluecoat L2 as well. This had no effect.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, James.

Hello James,
L2 redirection is more efficient and both routers and caches have to agree on the redirection encapsulation.
I don't like the line:
Router Identifier: -not yet determined-
see
OR
It may take some time aftet the change you did.
Are you using or the blue coat think to use a multicast group ?
Are the caches in a separate vlan/subnet ?
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,
Thanks for your reply.
The Bluecoat has the physical address of the VSS configured, so I am not using a multicast group.
Router Identifier seems to indicate I need to specific the Bluecoat proxy address on the Cisco. Or that the VSS has not dynamically learnt it via WCCP...
The caches are physically connected to an access layer switch. But the L3 interface is on the VSS (directly connected), so it is not a routed connection.
Thanks,
James.
