Hi there:
I have several pieces of Sup2 engines, recently i want to use them for testing purpose, and i found this message every time i power cycle the switch.
----------------------------
Warning: Rommon NVRAM area is corrupted. Initialize the area to default values
------------------------------
I change the register to 0x2102, but once i power down them for some days, this message comes up again. ( CLI reboot the switch is ok)
I am thinking that the NVRAM need to use the battery (cr-2430) on board, if the battery ran out, then the nvram can not store the data.
Am i correct?

If i am correct, any one knows how to replace the cr-2430 battery, it's not easy, because the battery is welded on the main board, only can take it out by force....

I believe that your only option is through RMA. Contact Cisco TAC for that.
