RME software management, change management questions

Can RME be configured to scheduled to pull software periodically off of each device and put it in the repository?

Also to purge old software from repository prior to the above?

And can any of the modules send an e-mail alert notifying when a config change occurs?

There is a function in "tools\change audit\automated actions" that looks like it might do that.

I have it configured for category "config change", but I am not getting anything from it, all other e-mail alerts are working fine.

Yes, you can schedule a Software Repository sync job under RME > Software Mgmt > Software Repository. Any purging of software from the repository has to be done manually. Yes, you can have an email sent when the synchronization job runs.

Yes, you can also configure Change Audit to send email when a config change is detected. The path you listed is the correct place to do this. When a change audit record is created, then the configured AA should be fired.

Joe,

On the config change e-mail, would this be an e-mail message generated when the config archive management job is scheduled to run and detected at that time, or can it detect in real time from syslog and generate an e-mail at that time?

The Change Audit AA feature will send an email only when a Change Audit record is generated, which is not necessarily when the config is archived. If you want to receive an email when a config changed syslog message is seen, you'd have to design a syslog automated action using the same patterns as is there for the existing Config Change action.
