HP procurve and HSRP

Hi,

Does anyone have procurve switches and HSRP working for them?

If so did you have any special config on the HP switches?

Its doesn't seem to be working even if both routers are patched into the same HP procurve switch. It won't fail over to backup.

I can't check the routers as a provider has installed theem and they are blaming the HP switches saying HP don't support HSRP but I can't see this being the case.

Thanks

Unfamilar with Procurve, but if HSRP multicast not being forwarded, could be problem.

Do you have access to routers so you determine if routers (HSRP) "see" each other?

When you say routers won't fail over, what kind of failure?

Hi Stephen,

Does your provider tell you what stage of HSRP the routers fail at? (debug standby will tell I think)

Could you switch be doing something to gratious arps?

I have HP ProCurve Switches in the middle of 6509s running HSRP. If you have broadcast-limit on the HPs interfaces, you may have it set too low. We had it configured too low at one point and had HSRP failovers.

Other than that, it has worked quite well.
