Hello,
We are service provider, and we are using a stack of 4 3750G for core switching and few 2960/2960G for L2 distribution in our rack.
distribution switch are connecter thru a etherchannel (2 links) to the stack.
We are segregating IP network in dedicated VLAN. and we are adding more and more VLAN to the network.
We already have more than 200 VLAN, with no pruning, and default configuration for STP. We are using STP only for loop protection, not for redundance which is already addressed by the etherchanel
we recently add 100 more vlan, and it seems that we reach a kind of limits.
what is the best way to manage 500+ vlan in this kind of architecture ?
of course we only need 10-15 vlan by rack (so per distributing sw/2960)
i'm afraid of using centralised management of vlan like VTP because a single error can bring all the L2 down.
what about MST ? do pruning vlan on etherchanel will resolve the probleme ?
how much vlan can this configuration handle ? is there any default value to increase ?

with the number of VLANS MST is the way to go for sure.
