Solved: DR Site - IP Addressing

Hi,

What is the best practice for IP address assignment in DR site. Should it be the same as in Production site or should they be different. And what are the reasons for choosing one.

Use different specially if there is a synchronization between sites, but make the 3rd and 4th octet or at least the 4th octet the same so that it would be easier for the admin and/or user to relate it to the device/service.

Reasons for making them different are;

- synchronization

- administration, monitoring, and management

- routing (for private networks without NAT)

- user access (for private networks without NAT)

- to be able to identify (and route) which IP belongs to which site.
