I wanted to know what cisco routers coudl do the full ipv4 routing table in hardware.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure most do it in software.
Thanks in advance, the only online datasheet that I could find anything useful on was the Sup 720 which you need the 3bxl. Just wondering what else can take a full table.
Thanks
Frank

Hello Frank,
looking to cheaper but less powerful devices
C7200 with NPE-G1 or NPE-G2
C7301 (reported by other colleagues)
someone reported to use C3845 with 512 MB of RAM
currently a full table is 290,000 routes
Going to high end devices
ASR 100x
C7600 sup 720 3BXL or better
GSR PRP2
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Giuseppe,
None of those devices with the exception of the 7600 holds the IPv4 table in hardware.

Hello Edison,
I've misread the OP.
Sorry for this
However, GSR have the capabilities to hold a CEF table on each linecard because it can only run in ip CEF distributed mode.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
