Hi,
We have installed CW 3.2 and trying to download images from either
cisco.com or the file system into the software repository. We can add all router and
switch IOS images but none of the ROMMON images.
Can we use CW to upgrade a router or switch ROMMON?

What are the images you are trying to download?

No, these images are not supported by RME. You must upgrade the ROMMON code by hand.

Hi jclarke,
Thanks for the reply.
So is there a document or list to tell which kind of rommon images are supported.
Can we do it by Netconfig Jobs in RME?
Thanks

Bootloader images are supported. For example, c7200-boot-mz.120-24.S6.bin.
Yes, Netconfig may be a viable workaround. You can create an ad hoc job to call the upgrade rom-monitor command. Of course, this will be interactive, so your job will need to be something like:
upgrade rom-monitor file FILE
That said, the job will reload the router at this point, and will fail. The router will most likely be stuck at the rommon> prompt requiring console interaction to complete the boot after the upgrade completes. This may be unacceptable, and thus a local console upgrade outside of RME should be done.
