Is there a solution to have the CLID displayed before the agent answered with IP Phone Agent.
I never lived that situation with the CAD.

What product and version?
If CCX, the behavior will be identical to CAD: The CTI Port information will display on the agent's phone until they answer the call.

I get this situation with 2 differents servers but both are on the same release which is rel 7.
When I use CAD I am able to see the CLID before and after that I answer the call.
