I need assistance with Virtual/Simulated IOS and PIX environments.

Hello,

I'm new here and studying for my CCNA. The only problem is that I can't afford Cisco hardware at the moment.

I'm looking for Simulated or Virtual IOS and PIX environments so that I can learn commands and configure devices without actually having one near me. Can somebody recommend software that simulates switches, routers, firewalls, and preferably the router simulation would have wireless "capability".

I have GNS3 and DynaGen, but I'm not sure if these are the correct avenues to take.

If some of you would be of assistance I'd be most gracious.

Thank you for reading my inquiry.

Kind Regards

GNS3 is your best bet. They support routers and switching cards but not a dedicated switch. like a 2960. I'm pretty sure they support PIX and ASA as well. No wireless capabilities yet. You may want to look into rack rentals too. They allow you access to real devices.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the reply.

Frankly I'm surprised Cisco hasn't made anything like that...

Thanks again!
