SIP Trunk on CUCM

Unanswered Question
Jul 23rd, 2009

We have a working SIP trunk to a remote Gateway to a Provider. The remote gateway has an external interface connection to the SIP Provider configured with an external IP. We do not want to route this IP across our internal network, so that the CUCM trunk will function. Is there a solution to allow us to use and internal IP on the SIP trunk config in CUCM and translate at the gateway?

Any direction appreciated

Yes, use a CUBE.

In case you didn't notice there is an ask the expert on SIP trunks going on right now, it might help you to read it and if you have doubts ask in there.

Why it's a bad idea to do a direct CUCM - SIP provider trunk is also explained there.
