How to find out how much power my ip phone uses connected to a cat4500?

Hi,

on a 4500 I am currently trying to get the information how much power a connected poe ip phone uses.

I got the following command output:

show power inline gi1/1

Interface Admin Oper Power(Watts) Device Class

From PS To Device

--------- ------ ---------- ---------- ---------- ------------------- -----

Gi1/1 auto on 7.5 7.0 Ieee PD 2

Interface AdminPowerMax AdminConsumption

(Watts) (Watts)

---------- --------------- --------------------

Gi1/1 20.0 15.4

===================

show power inline police gi1/1

Interface Admin Oper Admin Oper Cutoff Oper

State State Police Police Power Power

--------- ------ ---------- ---------- ---------- ------ -----

Gi1/1 auto on none n/a n/a 3.2

It would be fine if somebody could explain exactly the following terms:

- Power from PS

- Power to Device -> amount of power the phone uses?

- Operational Power -> also the amount of power the phone uses?

- Admin Power Max

- Admin Power Consumption

Best Regards,

Thorsten Steffen

Your phone is pulling 15.4 watts of power but the port is allowing up to 20.0 watts.

That's not what I think.

In my eyes it pulls 3.2 watts which is the operational power shown in the second output. Further it's a class 2 device which afaik pulls not more than 6,49 watts.
