Need step by step to setup FC connection over DWDM with 10DME cards. Keep getting error about internal patch cord at destination no not connected when doing the client connection.

Is port 9 on the 10DME card up at both ends? What FC speed are you trying to configure? What mux/demux cards are you using? I suspect there is a problem with the patching between the 10DME Port 9 and the Mux/Demux card(s) channel ports. Also check that the Wavelength Trunk setting is configured to the correct wavelength and that it is connected to the correct port on the mux/demux card(s). If the patching is correct then check that the power levels are correct, look under the Performance tab for each card. Once port 9 on the 10DME card is up you should have no problem creating an FC circuit.

To configure the card is straightforward first make sure the mode (under Provisioning>Card) and the PPM (under Provisioning>Pluggable Port Module) are correct for the type of FC your configuring. Hope this helps

Thanks for the input. We found the problem.

We were creating an OCHNC connection between the 10DME cards, then trying to create the FC OCHCC. The OCHNC would come up fine but the OCHCC kept failing with an error about an internal patch cable missing at the destination end. Turns out that the CTC wizard cannot set up the OCHTRAIL circuit if an OCHNC circuit is already built for that wavelength. We deleted the OCHNC then created the OCHCC and everything came up fine.
