cisco WS-C2924M-XL

VTP Version : 2

Configuration Revision : 26

Maximum VLANs supported locally : 254

Number of existing VLANs : 21

Hi Gil,

Have you tried using the latest IOS, WC17?

Hi Leo,

I haven't tried upgrading the IOS yet.

I already downloaded the IOS in case an upgrade is needed.

If I could create extended VLAN in transparent mode. Then my problem is solve.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I just tested it on my

WS-C2924M-XL running IOS Version 12.0(5)WC17 and it doesn't support extended vlans

WS-C2924M-XL-A(vlan)#vlan ?

<1-1005> ISL VLAN index

Hi,

Could you please try to change the VTP operation mode to Transparent. Then create an extended VLAN. If it doesn't work then I have no choice but to change the switch.

Thanks and regards,

Gil

Hi Gil,

Apologize for wasting your time. The 2900/3500 switches are very "simple" models. I have a nagging suspicion it doesn't support extended VLANs but I can't confirm because I couldn't find any documentations nor do I have a sample to test it out.

Hi Leo,

If this is not doable then I have no choice but to change the switch.

Thanks for information and help.

I appreciate it. :)

Regards,

Gil

Just changed it to transparent. Sorry, there is no extended vlan support

Thanks for the help and support.

Regards,

Gil
