Determine handset status - when calling other extension

12.4(22)YB1/CME/CUE 7.0.2, would like to know if there is a way to obtain the offhook status of the called party when calling extension to extension. The previous PBX system that the CME replaced provided the internal caller with a "line busy" status message for the called party. So basically you knew that the other party was on a call once you started ringing, and not just forwarding their line to voicemail, or that maybe you shouldn't continue to ring the extension until the CFNA timer was triggered if you don't want to leave a voicemail.


Since there are over 50 internal extensions, using line presence (7914's configured with "m" button assignments) would be too expensive.
