Replace with new WAAS hardware

In our environment we have 2 x 7341 WAAS in HQ and Remote site. We are planning to swap the loan unit with actual one.

So for the remote site swapping, is that we just apply the existing configuration in the loan unit to the new unit and then swap the connections.

Or there is some configuration changes need to be made in the central manager side ?? As i see from the document, the edge WAAS unit only store a few configuration and the actual policy configuration is not on the edge unit.

Alex,

You can replace the hardware for an existing WAE using the following procedure:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v413/configuration/guide/maint.html#wp1105458

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Regards,

Zach

In addition to the previously provided steps, you may need disable disk encryption, reboot, enable disk encryption if you had been and want to continue to use disk encryption.

Enabling Disk Encryption

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v413/configuration/guide/maint.html#wp1159453

...If the WAE fails to obtain the encryption key, disable disk encryption by using the no disk encrypt enable global configuration command from the CLI, and reload the WAE. Ensure connectivity to the Central Manager before you enable disk encryption and reload the WAE. This process will clear the disk cache...

Thank You,

Dan Laden
