dyndns.org support on the SR520-FE-K9?

Unanswered Question

Hi folks,

I have a customer who has users in multiple homes all across the country.  They utilize dyndns.org to have all of the routers report back to their account, so when they need to remote into the routers, if the public IP has changed, they can just map to it.  Could someone confirm the 520 will allow the customers to setup their account information to be able to use dyndns.org?  I read http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/ios/ipaddr/configuration/guide/iad_ddns_ps6441_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

and noticed that IOS does support dyndns.org by command line interface, but the customer really wants a GUI.  Is there another product I should be recommending?

I read a month or so ago that CCA cannot currently support dyndns.org and the feature is slated for the 2.1 release, but is there a workaround?

I'm up against D-Link's DFL-210 and need to make sure I address the customer's number one concern (GUI dyndns.org support).  D-Link is saying they have a dyndns.org client integrated in the firmware for all of the DFL series firewalls.  Any competitive information on this product that would benefit?

I have this problem too.

Actualy, the SR500 series of routers is part of the Small Business portfolio, so this is a legitimate place to post the question.

To answer the specific question, you are pretty much correct in all particulars.  Dyndns.org can be supported using CLI, and is currently planned for support through the GUI in the next release of CCA.  In the interim, you can use CLI to configure the functionality.
