I need a Gigabit 48 port switch with a optical input. Layer 2 switch is fine.

You can have a look at
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6406/
For example:
2960G-48TC-L
48 10/100/1000 ports + 2 SFP ports for optical input

Do you want all 48 ports to be optical? You can go with a 4500 (WS-X4448-GB-SFP module) or a 6500 (WS-X6748-SFP module). If you need 48 copper gig ports and a few optical uplink ports, then there are other lower cost options (WS-C2960G-48TC-L, WS-C3560G-48TS-S, WS-C3750G-48TS-S, etc)

For the 2350 and the 2960G-48TC-L, do I have to purchase a SFP module or does it come with one?
Thank you for all your help.

One of Cisco's Business Units must approve purchase of 2350 switches. It's not as straightforward as ordering 2960's or 3560's. It's priced low and is meant as a point of last resort for Cisco to compete against HP and other switch vendors.

You need to purchase SFP modules. It's not delivered with the switch.
