I have a cisco ASA5520 using Client 5.05. I currently am using the public ip address under the hostname and everything works fine. I created a dns name with my isp and let it populate and it does not work. It does not even hit the asa. I checked on dnsstuff and the ip resolves to the name.Does anyone have any idea on how to resolve this?

If you ping the hostname from the same PC that Client is installed on, does it resolve?

It does not resolve, which led me to believe a dns problem but when i checked on dns stuff it is correct.

Your client must be able to resolve it if you want to use it for VPN connection.

So if i am correct this has nothing to do with the client or the asa....this is a dns issue correct

correct
